Type of Training Programme with multiple subsidiary courses
Reference Number Redcliffe MA Literacy Program Development
Description This staged MA programme in Literacy Programme Development will appeal to all who are starting their SIL training with a focus on literacy work in minority language contexts in developing countries, or who wish to complete the initial training in literacy which they have received in recent years. The course also welcomes those who have an interest in literacy programmes in developing contexts but who are not connected to SIL. The MA is taught in partnership with Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL, as part of Redcliffe's Centre for Linguistics, Translation and Literacy (formerly ETP UK). The taught component of the MA takes place at Redcliffe College in Gloucester. The 18-week Postgraduate Certificate stage is normally followed by a supervised field internship of up to two years. To gain the MA, the Postgraduate Diploma and Dissertation stages are then completed. Assignments draw strongly on practical examples and provide an opportunity for reflection on previous experience in multilingual cross-cultural settings. The modules are outlined below - please follow the links for more detailed information about each component.
