The glory, diversity and universality of the Church. Christ's headship of the Church; the Church as his body in the world. The Local Church: Study examples of the life of the Church in the NT. Be able to focus on the essential elements. Membership and nature of the Church: the smallest expression of the church - where 2 or 3 are gathered together. Life in community: keeping the bond of unity in diversity; humility, forgiveness and forbearing one another; giving and receiving rebuke in love; mutual commitment and encouragement. The Church as a family, a place of growth, a testimony in the world. Understand the sacraments/ordinances.
